Crawl space drainage correction
After several storms in late spring, homeowner noticed standing water pooling near the rear of the crawl space — approximately 15 square feet of standing water up to 2 inches deep. The source was traced to a low point in the crawl space grade combined with a downspout discharging directly against the foundation.
Re-grading the crawl space floor to establish slope toward a drainage point, installation of a perimeter drain channel along the rear foundation wall, extension of the exterior downspout 6 feet away from the foundation, and a crawl space liner installed after the drainage was confirmed functional.
The following two storm events produced no standing water. The homeowner checked via inspection camera after each event and confirmed a dry crawl space. The project cost was split between the drainage work and the liner installation, with the drainage addressed first as recommended.
